Camping in the Tso Moriri

Pangong Tso, glamourised by cinematic presence in 3 Idiots, often overshadows his cousin who was more subdued, Tso Moriri. But if You can resist selling hype, camp by the Tso Mo and You will be rewarded.

It’s 2: 30 pm and on the back of my cold, regardless of the length of the clothes that are completely passe, a pair of what I was supposed to be reliable thermal leggings and a pair of denim is thrown in a hurry over them. And then my bladder that reached that exploded near the Summit which means that I removed all the layers in the darkness and hope not to change the rock solid, only to found frozen to death and some naked the next day. I Survived the night. And if I was bribed to go through the night was limited only to the views of the beautiful rewarded from Tso Moriri next day, I will happily take the offer, with the addition of warm blankets thrown in for good measure.

Our group is a not-so-motley eleven that night camping Tso Moriri (Tso = Lake), an altitude of Leh brackish. One of the world’s highest village at Korzok, 15,075 feet, facing the Tso Mo, as we grow to christen the Lake. Drive in this area was never fluent. If the remote mountains and magnificent scenery does not hold your attention, road signs would have been. At the checkpost where You have to show You the permission to visit Tso Mo, painted stone reads: ‘ Don’t Gama, on the grounds of the old ‘ while others are more daring journey – ‘ I’m Bonny. Slow ‘. Okay, then.

After a pitstop on the Chumathang, famous for its hot, and where the dogs in heat are located around as You slurp on Maggi, the urge to get involved in the air and passing Moriri Kyagar Tso are amazing with the blue color that lives in Lake water.

FORGET-Me-Not blues
Point to the field with various Moriri is green and farmers who look like specks minutes from tentsite. The lake itself, the bed quietly with wind rippling soft Blues, flanked by mountains snowtopped and the forget-me-not blue sky with a marshmallow-like Cumulus. Close to the edge of the Lake is a campsite with demarcations for shows in your area. The people of the Ecological Footprint, ecoconscious Leh-based travel company that has held our trip to Moriri, quickly set up tents, its great to have our meals in a smaller, for cooking, and another tent for us to sleep, two people in each.
